if you thougth Bijon Mondal's new play karna will be just another re-hased version of umpteen television serials based on mythological characters, think again taking inspiration from traditional forms of Indian ballet, Bijon Mondal and his group has weaved the original storylne of the mythological epic with traditional martial arts from little app Manipur and chhau dance from orissa.

It will be something totally different promises Bijon Mondal, who does the lead role in a new play opening next weel, titled karna: The Generous Warrior
A new group, Ranga Theatre, has been formed and this is their first play. Their note about the reasons for starting the group is rather sweet. "Like every other passionate person with roots in theatre, like every second actor who has not seen the king of theatre he/she beluives in adn has fire in his/her belly to do what they have growth with and believes in.. For being some of us together and to satiate what burning desire of doing good work is what prompted tanga Theatre and this play."
